Biography
John Philip Koehler, also known as J.P. Koehler was a pastor, seminary professor, seminary president and historian of the synod until 1930 when he left the synod to join the Protes'tant Conference. He wrote the first histories of the Wisconsin Synod including "The History of the Wisconsin Synod". He compiled a detailed index of the Early Presidential letters after he found them in the attic of the parsonage of Grace Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
