Scope and Contents
This series consists primarily of correspondence between Brenner and Selective Service exempting all teacher and theological students from the draft. Also included are correspondence on the Committee on Relief for War Sufferers, conscientious objectors, civil defense, military chaplaincies, and other matters with the armed forces. This series can be broken into three eras: 1. World War I and immediately after, 2. World War II, immediately before and after, 3. Korean War.
