Scope and Contents

This series contains the records submitted to the BHM from each of the various district mission boards. Included are early field reports, minutes from meetings of the individual boards, correspondence, various financials, and prospective field reports. [Note: In respect to home missions, several congregations in Colorado and California maintain independent governance, apart from their administrative governance within the Dakota-Montana District and the Arizona-California District, respectively. Records of the early Arizona Mission District were absorbed by the Arizona-California District. Records of the Colonial Mission District were absorbed by the North Atlantic District. Records of the Texas Mission District were absorbed by the South Central District. Records of the boards for early foreign missions, institutional missions, and inner-city missions have been compiled under “Special Missions”, sub-series 15.]
