Series 19: Special Events, 1872 - 1995
Scope and Contents
Major special events on campus were commencement and campus anniversaries.
The articles related to commencement include announcements, programs, newspaper articles, speeches, honorary degrees, and diplomas. For each of these subgroups, the articles are arranged chronologically.
The articles related to campus anniversaries are arranged chronologically as well. They include correspondence, programs, announcements, and newspaper clippings. The major campus anniversaries occurred in 1915 (50 years), in 1965 (100 years), and in 1990 (125 years), but there are some articles from other anniversary celebrations.
There are other special events on campus that have been arranged chronologically in this series. Note that special events related to professors (anniversaries, installations, etc.) and buildings (dedications, ground-breaking, etc.) are in series 3 and 14 respectively.
