Scope and Contents

Over the course of its 130-year history, many accounts of various scopes have been written about Northwestern College. This series includes the following published histories:

1905: Geschichte der lutherishen Erziehungsanstalt Northwestern University zu Watertown, Wisconsin.

1915: Unser Northwestern College: Sein Werden und Wachsen, by Arthur Hörmann (translated to Our Northwestern College: The Story of its Origin and Growth by Hans Koller Moussa)

1965: Centennial Story: Northwestern College, 1865-1965, by Erwin Ernst Kowalke

1979: Centennial Memoir: Northwestern College Alumni Society 1879-1979, by Elmer Carl Kiessling

1990: Holding the Course: Northwestern College 125, by Carleton Toppe

Six copies of each of these books are included in this series, with the exception of Centennial Story (4 copies). This series also includes notes that Kowalke gathered from various sources for his book. The rest of the series includes general articles written about NWC, Professor Ott’s notes about NWC’s history, an annual listing of significant events, and histories of various NWC organizations.
