Scope and Contents

This subseries contains various periodicals, newspapers, and publications–some selections in their entirety, other selections as just the article itself. This is one of the most significant portions of this collection. While many of the other documents and information can be found elsewhere in our records, some of these publications (especially the newspaper clippings) provide excellent primary source information that cannot be found elsewhere.

This subseries originally included many full copies of Christian News, the Northwestern Lutheran, and the Quartalschrift. These copies have been eliminated since they are readily found in the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Library. The one exception is the selections from the Northwestern Lutheran, which Dahlke marked up extensively. Copies of these selections were made for two reasons: 1) They give an insight into Dahlke's thoughts with his emphases in the articles, and 2) They are a quick, easily collection of the articles in the Northwestern Lutheran that pertain to the Missouri issue.

Finally, though it is not specifically within the scope of the series, this subseries also includes a series of fascinating newspaper articles from 1969-1974 detailing the Seminex walkout, and the events leading up to that conflict.
