Koehler's Index: 274. 1859, March 21, sent from Gettysburg by J. H. Sieker to Muehlhaeuser. Klagt über Mangel an luth. Sinn in Gettysburg. Schaeffer tüchtig für die deutsche Sprache und Sache. Pres. Dr. Baugher verbietet die Studenten, zu Schaeffer in der Kirche zu gehen, Schmucker predigt nicht, wenn wenig Leute da sind.

( Complains about lack of Lutheran sense in Gettysburg. Schaeffer competent for the German language and subject. Pres. dr Baugher forbids the students to go to Schaeffer in church, and Schmucker doesn't preach when there aren't many people there.)
