Scope and Contents
Records consist of individual correspondences with pastors and teachers in the Southeastern Wisconsin District of the Wisconsin Synod. Correspondences include calls that were accepted, declined/returned, and calls that were being deliberated. Also contained in in the collection are correspondence pertaining to those seeking a return to the public ministry after absence for a period of time. Finally there are correspondences pertaining to anniversaries and congregational dedications.

Biographical / Historical
Winfred Nommensen was elected to be the president of the Southeastern Wisconsin District in the June 1983 meeting of the district. From that time he served as liaison between congregations and synod especially in regard to called workers. As a member of the Council of Presidents he also served on call committees, preparing call lists and aiding in assignments of candidates. His term ended in June of 1992 when his first vice president, Dave Rutschow was elected to serve the presidency.
