This series consists of reports correspondence and other documents pertaining specifically to the work of the following subcommittees of the General Board for Home Missions: the Architecture Committee, the Church Extension Fund, the Communications Committee, the Inner-City Mission Committee, the Mass Media Committee, the Priority Committee, and the Special Mission Committee. Files associated with this series are file numbers 49-54.

This series contains documents relating the study of prep schools in the Synod, especially as it related to the Northwestern Campus. Included are reports, statistics, and correspondence related to the Prep School Study Committee, Northwestern Lutheran Academy in Mobridge, SD, and Martin Luther Preparatory School in Prairie du Chien, WI. The series also contains documents relating to amalgamation and the eventual closing of the college and move to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN.

This series consists of correspondence from a variety of correspondents regarding Michigan District Mission Board business, as well as the specific workings of the mission congregations scattered across the district. Some correspondents include: Frederick Adrian, John Chworowsky, Edwin Frey, Richard Frohmader, Daniel Gawrisch, Daniel Gieschen, Peter Kruschel, Herbert Kuske, James Mattek, Robert Mueller, and Walter Oehlhafen. This series consists of correspondence concerning calls, call requests, suspensions, resignations, assignments and other matters dealing with the call. Also included are documents on the issues of calling female teachers, discussions of the doctrine of the call and the practice of ordination, and on the need for called workers.
