Series 1: Essay File and Educational Committee Work, 1933 - 1985
This series contains documents that resemble a miniature version of the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Essay File. Professor Lawrenz collected numerous essays, tracts, manuscripts, and books that were saved in this collection. The topics range from Old and New Testament studies, to doctrine, fellowship, and church history. Also included is a large number of newspaper and periodical articles. Files numbered 1-40 are found in this series.
Series 2: Doctrinal Committee Work, 1947 - 1988
This series contains minutes and reports from the various committees involved in doctrinal studies both within and without the Wisconsin Synod. A large amount of detailed information is available, especially focusing on issues pertaining to the split between the Wisconsin and Missouri synods. Folders 41-47 are found in Box 2. Folders 48-69 are found in Box 3. Folders 70-83 are found in Box 4.
Series 3: Inter-synodical Committee Work, 1938 - 1989
This series contains minutes, reports, and correspondence pertaining to the various Lutheran groups around the world with whom the Wisconsin Synod was communicating. Included are reports from the Committee on Doctrinal Matters and Commission on Inter-Church Relations (CICR).
