Scope and Contents
This series contains texts and tune setting reviewed by the hymn committee and others for inclusion in or exclusion from the hymn section of the hymnal. A further description of each subseries has been included where necessary.
Subseries 1: Sources Subseries 2: Submissions Arranged alphabetically by contributor. Includes submissions by ELS. Subseries 3: Analysis Includes a hymn-use analysis by Bryan Gerlach, comparative hymns lists from The Lutheran Hymnal, Lutheran Worship, and The Lutheran Book of Worship, analyses of “gospel” hymns and other hymn settings.
Subseries 4: Critical reviews of hymnals, hymns Includes individual reviews, reviews of Justification and Advent sections.
