Scope and Contents Records consist of documents produced and received by the offices of the Board for Home Missions. Correspondence and reports to and from various administrative bodies, District Mission Boards, congregations, missions and individuals make up the bulk of the collection. Due to the fact that the Board for Home Missions and the Board for World Missions (BWM) were under joint administration until 1957, the majority of BWM documents are housed in a separate collection.

Scope and Contents Records consist of documents relating to the overall work of the SEW DMB. Included are meeting minutes for the SEW DMB, for the BHM (then known as the General Board for Home Missions), and for the Inner-City Mission Committee. Also included is information and correspondence relating to each of the missions which received subsidy through the SEW DMB.
